Handling SPAM

There are a few things to know about SPAM.
1. Two folder modes for handling spam tagged messages: a. Supports Outlook and other POP3 mode readers by placing an [S] in front of all suspect messages and delivering them to the inbox with the rest of the mail. (Do not use spam folder mode in the admin interface)
b. Supports Webmail and IMAP email readers and places spam into a "Spam" folder (use spam folder mode in the admin interface)
2. Spam filtering can be turned on or off for any account in the admin interface.
3. Individual email addresses can be whitelisted or blacklisted. However it is best not to waste time whitelisting. With your spam filtering: Any person you send an email to is whitelisted by the system so that their messages to you will henceforth bypass incoming spam filtering. Use blacklisting sparingly. Do not reply to unwanted email as this will only whitelist their address.
4. Your outgoing messages are NOT spam filtered by the system. They of course may be spam filtered by the recipients system but not by ours.
