Changing a Page URL | | | Page with URL we want to change | You may have noticed that once you create an editable page it's URL remains fixed. You can change a page's title but the original URL is not effected by any subsequent changes to the Name field.
One short workaround for remote or FTP access users is to create a new page with the correct naming, then move the contents from the old page to the new page then delete the old page. This is primarily for when you have a complicated page or pages with content or children that you want to quickly manipulate.

Go to the data folder on your website, find and copy the contents of the old page to the new page.
(This is the view in Explorer while remotely connected.) |
Paste into the new folder.

Back to the edit platform and verify that the new page URL, details and child pages (if any) appear correctly. |
Find the original page (the one with the bad URL) and delete it.
Note: If your site uses graphical navigation (i.e. non IG generated links) you will need to change those manually in the default.htm template. This is most easily accomplished by bringing up default.htm in Notepad and doing a "Find" operation for the old URL. |
